Hmmm 5 years… 2018! I love being a science communicator and being able to travel the world, so I hope to find myself doing much of the same thing, but in different countries. I would like to communicate more science in developing countries where they have less resources than us here in Australia. We are all very lucky here. I also hope to be making more science films and documentaries!
I hope that my company is successful and in five years I could employ someone to help me with the work we have. I hope I’m still healthy enough to scuba dive and travel!
In five years I hope to be working in a good university (anywhere in the world) doing my own research. I would love to use genetics to study marine animal populations. For example, I could work out if the New Zealand Orca (killer whale) populations are mixing and breeding with the Arctic populations by looking at their DNA to see if they are related. This would tell us that they are traveling huge distances to mate. Things like that really interest me.
