Question: with your new species of worms, Pilargidae, are they apart of the nematoda (round worms) or the Platyhelminthes ( flatworms) family, and what characteristics make them different from other worms? e.g appearance, habitat, adaptations.

    The pilargidae are part of the Polychaeta or Annelida (earthworms, leaches and marine worms). They are not nematodes or platyhelmithes. In the taxonomic ranking it is like this

    Kingdom: Animalia
    Phylum: Annelida
    Class: Polychaeta
    Order: Aciculata
    Family: Pilargidae

    Kingdom: Animalia
    Phylum: Platyhelmithes

    Kingdom: Animalia
    Phylum: Nematoda
