Question: Are there really 30 new species of worms called pilargidae, could you name a few?

Keywords: ,

  1. Yes, we have 30 new species… Well that’s the problem we have to think of names for them. I have just finished a journal paper we named one new species after a very highly regards worm expert in Mexico. Sergio Salazer. We called that one Synelmis sergi.

We are still working on the next paper, I have named one after my mom – Sigambra wendyae. But this is not published so the name does not exist yet. Then scientist I’m working with on this project he is naming some too, he named on Sigambra arafurensis because it was found in the Arafura sea.

Then we have other new species from the genus Sigambra, Cabira, Ancistrosyllis, Pilargis, Litocorsa. We just have to think of names for them.
