We are also looking for new chemicals, the Museum where I work goes out to the reef and collects marine sponges (Porifera). these animals produce weird chemical to stop other animals eating them or growing on them. The museum identifies the sponge and sends it to a cancer research facility where the scientist there collect the chemicals to see if they might be a cure for cancer and other diseases.
